Our Story

The Siding 14 Gallery began with original founders

Danny Lineham and Mary MacArthur, traditional bookmakers who found their own start in Aotearoa (New Zealand). After honing their craft in Aotearoa and Mexico, they moved to the small town of Ponoka, Alberta, Canada, and rented out the gallery as a working studio for their handbound book line, Those Great Little Books.

Over time, they realized the potential of the studio as a gallery space to support other local artists and artisans -- and then, because people kept asking, they added art supplies to the mix, too!

They would spend twelve amazing years serving their craft and community here, before retiring and

passing it on to the

next generation.

In May 2024, the Siding 14 Gallery re-opened under the new management of

Challen Gladman.

Challen (they/them), along with their

loving and supportive partner Dane (he/him),

came to Ponoka to start a new life.

Challen began their artistic journey as a digital artist, with a lifelong habit of trying every medium and craft they can get their hands on;

Dane began his own as a musician, a member of multiple bands

in his home state of Florida, USA, before his move to Canada.

Today, Challen runs the gallery, Dane runs the house, and, together, they're excited to see the Siding 14 Gallery grow and change. We have much to learn together in this new chapter of our lives, and we're excited to see how it unfolds with you all! ❤
